Genus Titanoeca

Only two closely related species occur in this region and five in Middle-Europe.
These cribellate spiders have a a flimsy web as retreat under stones, in leaf-litter or in low foliage.
They can often be found running around in warm sunny chalk rich areas.

Male are different from females. Males have a bright brown-red head-breast part (not so clear from the pictures on the right) with four white spots on their abdomen while the females have no spots. These spider are around 5 mm in length
